Fortunate Son - Rockschool Debut Electric

This is an absolute classic rock song, and it starts off our journey learning the electric guitar with some great techniques.

One of the great things about the Rockschool Fortunate Son version of the song is the different way it uses little parts of chords through both picking and strumming.

The main challenges are being accurate through the picking sections, especially when you have to jump over a string, and strumming only the strings marked to make sure it all sounds right.

I will comment here on the notes in the book briefly, as it calls this a heavy rock song, and says to use distortion on the guitar. Compared to today's music, this is definaitely NOT a heavy rock song, and if you listen to the guitar on the track or on the original it is almost clean, so do not crank the over drive / gain control on your amp. You should set it so you can just hear a little bit of that 'rock guitar' sound coming through.
