Charity Work
Through the amazing support of the local charity Opera Luna, we have been able to offer primary schools we work with free band / ensemble lessons for children with SEN.
This is an amazing opportunity for us and for our schools and something I've wanted to be able to do for a long time. It's with the partnership of this fantastic charity that we are now in a position to offer this.
The project is 'Growth Through Music', as it's about inspiring confidence, working together in a group environment, and overcoming challenges using music as a vehicle to do so.
In year 1 - 2026-2027 - children will receive 10 group lessons over a term and then perform the song they have learnt for the school.
In year 2, we will work even closer with specific schools and these lessons will then be over the entire academic year.
General Bursaries
These are available through the schools with Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire Music Hub (GSW). They are only available for families in receipt of free school meals - please approach your school directly about these.
Goffen Music Schools Bursary
Over the last few year we have used performances as an opportunity to raise money for charities such as Music For All.
We will continue to do this, but are also now looking to raise money from our large performances at Christmas and Summer to enable us to create our own small bursary fund. This will be offered at our discretion with discussions with schools to ensure it is used in the most effective way possible.
